Welcome (or rather not...)

This blog was created to put into motion a global awareness of the illicit and inhuman treatment given to Brazilian citizens visiting Spain or just making connection flights inside their territory.

In a blatantly act of discrimination, following an orientation given by the Spanish government, migration officers at Barajas are obliged to meet a minimum daily quota of foreign citizens to deport or repatriate (see link), without reason, providing no justification and lacking any legal basis.

To add insult to injury, the treatment given to Brazilian citizens falling under the "care" of the Spanish migration officers are inhuman (to say the least): they are isolated from family, forcibly imprisoned, denied food, drink, self-hygiene, and even medicine (as you'll see in forthcoming posts), women are forced to share rooms with male strangers; they are morally coerced and offended by Spanish officers, their possessions are confiscated (money, clothes, hygiene items, medicals and even documentation - passport, IDs, credit cards, cell phones, etc.), and above all, their dignity as human beings of the world is forever shattered by a misguided government and people permeated with xenophobic hysteria who are simply trying to meet a "business goal" without respect for their own humanity.

Nothing good can even come from such stupidity. It only testifies against Spain, and tells the world what Spain think of foreigners: Spain hates you!
